Pippa Middleton and actress Anne Hathaway set the tone for glitz and glamor at the evening event following Lady Gabriella Windsor’s magnificent royal wedding

British royalty mingled with Hollywood royalty as the wedding of Lady Gabriella Windsor continued with a lavish party in central London on Saturday night.

Lady Gabriella, daughter of the Queen’s cousin Prince Michael of Kent, and her new husband Thomas Kingston led friends and family to trendy new restaurant Wild by Tart for an evening reception after tying the knot in front of the Queen, the Duke of Edinburgh and the Duke of Sus𝑠e𝑥 at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, on Saturday afternoon.

Guests at the swanky evening soiree included Oscar-winning actress Anne Hathaway, 36, and husband Adam Shulman, 38; James Middleton, 32, and girlfriend Alizee Thevenet; and Pippa Middleton, 35, who arrived without husband James Matthews.

Radiant Lady Gabriella donned a second gown for the evening affair, after wowing guests in a bespoke Luisa Beccaria gown for the afternoon ceremony.

Hathaway looked typically elegant in a yellow gown worn under a cape and looked loved-up as she arrived for the party arm-in-arm with her dapper husband.

Meanwhile Princess Beatrice, 30, who arrived with boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, plumped for a green lace creation.

Pippa Middleton, who had earlier wowed guests in a floral blue high-neck frock, changed into a stunning pink lace gown by Erdem for the evening do, accessorising with a leopard-print clutch handbag by Wilbur & Gussie and a pair of heels by Hugo.

Guests appeared in excellent spirits as they arrived at the central London venue on Saturday night. Wild by Tart is the brainchild of Lucy Carr-Ellison and Jemima Jones, who founded company Tart to provide bespoke catering for fashion and film shoots.

The new restaurant, located in a old electrical plant come car park in Belgravia, can be hired out for private events and recently hosted a swish lunch for Jimmy Choo.

It provided a trendy end to an otherwise ultra traditional wedding, which saw Lady Gabriella and Mr Kingston become the third royal couple in a year to marry at St George’s Chapel.

The couple took official photos on the steps of the church and invited guests to an afternoon reception in the grounds of Frogmore House on the grounds of Windsor Castle – just a stone’s throw from Prince Harry and Meghan’s family home at Frogmore cottage.

Social media photos shared from inside the party show the bride and groom beaming as they cut their eight-tier wedding cake with a sword.

Others showed Pippa Middleton smiling as she rubbed shoulders with fellow guests. Mother of the bride Princess Michael of Kent looked the picture of pride in the snaps.

Videos shared also revealed how the bride went against tradition – making an emotional speech to her royal and famous guests about her wedding day and marriage.

Photos also showed how the venue, which was partly a marque, was decorated with pink lights and disco balls and small trees.

Wedding cake maker Fiona Cairns shared a picture of the newlyweds cutting her cake, which was made of three different flavours, including fruit cake, Victoria sponge and lemon Limoncello sponge.

In her speech the bride said: ‘Thank you so much for making all of this possible, both at beautiful St Georges Chapel and here at Frogmore – a place so filled with charm and history throughout the house and its enchanted gardens.

‘It is particularly meaningful to me as my grandparents, who I never had a chance to meet, are buried here.’

It was the third royal wedding at Windsor Castle in a year. But there were some notable absentees when Lady Gabriella Windsor, 37, married financier Thomas Kingston at St George’s Chapel yesterday.

The Duke of Cambridge was at the FA Cup final, while wife Kate decided to spend the day finishing a garden she has co-designed for the Chelsea Flower Show.

And as expected, although some onlookers were dismayed, the Duchess of Sus𝑠e𝑥 – who married Prince Harry at the castle a year ago today – stayed at home with baby Archie. Harry turned up with Peep Show actress Sophie Winkleman, who is married to Lady Gabriella’s brother Lord Frederick.

Accompanying Harry were his uncle and aunt, the Earl of Wes𝑠e𝑥 and the Princess Royal, who was joined by her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence.

The Queen was joined by Prince Philip, 97, who made a rare public appearance. Philip appeared in good spirits and joked with the Dean of Windsor, the Right Reverend David Conner.

The Queen wore a pink A-line coat, and a lilac and pink silk dress by Stewart Parvin, with a matching hat by Rachel Trevor-Morgan. Sarah, Duchess of York, and her ex-husband Prince Andrew arrived with their daughter Princess Beatrice and her boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. Beatrice’s sister Eugenie, who married Jack Brooksbank at the venue in October, did not attend.

Despite Kate’s absence, the rest of the Middleton family were out in force, with Carole, Michael, Pippa and husband James Matthews all in attendance. Kate’s younger brother James also made his public debut with new girlfriend Alizee Thevenet. Other familiar faces included Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes.

Lady Gabriella, the daughter of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent, wowed onlookers in a bespoke wedding dress designed by Luisa Beccaria. Made from lace, the gown was embroidered with flowers and embellishments, with a blush shade created by layers of tulle and organdie.

Her delicate veil was made from layers of white tulle, together with embroidered flowers. She wore the same Russian Fringe-style diamond tiara which her mother, Princess Michael, and her grandmother, Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent, wore on their wedding days – said to be worth between £1 – 3 million

Her bouquet featured a creamy Ivory ‘Ella’ rose by David Austin with myrtle – a feature of royal bridal bouquets since Queen Victoria started the tradition – as well as Juliet roses, lily of the valley and white and apricot sweet peas.

Ms Beccaria also designed the bridesmaids’ outfits – cream dresses with blush underlays and sashes and flower rings in their hair to echo the bridal bouquet.

The bridesmaids included Maud Windsor, five, and Isabella Windsor, three – daughters of Gabriella’s brother Lord Frederick and wife Sophie – along with Leonora Weisman, Aurelia del Drago, Eliza Goldsmith and Emily Conolly.

The couple paused on the castle steps after the ceremony to kiss in front of their guests. Sadly, the air of romance was lost on some of the younger members of the party – including two bridesmaids – who had a short rest on the steps. Guests were then ferried in vintage buses to Frogmore House for the reception.

The wedding reception was held at Frogmore House, where Meghan and Harry staged their wedding dinner, and the bride and groom cut a cake made by Fiona Cairns, who also made the Duke and Duchess of Sus𝑠e𝑥’s cake.

Earlier, when the groom Mr Kingston was seen walking to St George’s Chapel accompanied by his best man, he was applauded by a small group of residents who live within the castle grounds.

He was closely followed by mother of the bride Princess Michael of Kent, wearing a lilac dress and embroidered overcoat, who was joined by Lady Gabriella’s brother Lord Frederick Windsor.

Lady Gabriella arrived soon after, wearing a lace gown by Italian designer Luisa Beccaria. Arriving at the chapel in a claret coloured vintage car, she was accompanied by her father.

Maud, the eldest daughter of Lord Frederick Windsor and Sophie Winkleman, was part of the bridal party at Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding in October. Pageboys wore cream shirts and knickerbockers.

Guests were ferried in vintage buses close to the chapel and then walked down the hill to take their seats for the ceremony in the 15th-century venue from noon.

Julian Fellowes, who is well known as creator of TV period drama Downton Abbey, was also among the first to arrive as he walked alongside two female guests.

The society event was a parade of hats, dresses and men in morning suits as everyone waited for the ceremony in the chapel to begin. Lady Gabriella is the Queen’s first cousin once removed, and the 52nd in line to the throne.

It was the third royal wedding at St George’s Chapel in less than a year after the star-studded nuptials of the Duke and Duchess of Sus𝑠e𝑥 last May and Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank in October.

Buckingham Palace had said the monarch would be joined by members of the royal family but they were not revealed in advance.

Buckingham Palace later released details about the wedding service, with the hymns sung by the congregation including Tell Out My Soul, Be Thou My Vision and Love Divine, All Loves Excelling.

The readings were taken from Ecclesiastes III, Philippians IV, a passage from Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost, and O Tell Me The Truth About Love, by WH Auden.

They were read by Joanna Conolly, Emma Murray, Ms Winkleman and Sarah St George. The bride and groom chose Paul Thomas to design the flower arrangements for the service.

Flowers in the chapel included coral sunset peonies, coral and white roses, white hydrangea, white delphiniums, apricot stocks and seasonal flowers, as well as the creamy ivory ‘Ella’ rose, by David Austin, named for the bride.

The cherry and apple blossom trees and shrubs which stood outside St George’s were from Hillier Nurseries.

The three-tiered cake was made with three recipes including fruit cake, Victoria sponge and lemon Limoncello sponge.

It featured pale blush icing, and the leaf border surrounding the base was inspired by fabric within Frogmore House. The decoration included seasonal sugar flowers and shades of the lacework on the bride’s wedding dress.

Guests at the reception were served smoked Scottish salmon and asparagus risotto and canapes, plus Caragh Chocolates from the Isle of Sark, where the couple were engaged. Flowers at the reception were by John Plested.
