The Critics Choice Awards took place on Sunday, January 14 at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California

The stars kicked off the red carpet in style on Sunday afternoon for the 29th Annual Critics’ Choice Awards at Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, California.

Margot Robbie and Emily Blunt both looked incredible in red, with Margot channeling red hot Barbie glamour in an off-the-shoulder gown featuring rosettes along the neckline while Emily opted for sequin one-shoulder version.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon chose classic black looks, with Jennifer in a strapless jumpsuit with a statement belt and Reese in a bow-accented gown.

Emily arrived with husband John Krasinski, one week after their viral red carpet appearance at the Golden Globes red carpet; social media sleuths tried to decipher what John said to his wife on the red carpet, with some believing he told her: ‘I can’t wait for a divorce.’

Dua Lipa, 28, looked ravishing in a burgundy three-dimensional gown, which perfectly complimented her crimson dyed tresses.

Dua’s gown featured three-dimensional fabric set in wave-like patterns for a statement look at this year’s awards ceremony.

She added Tiffany & Co. jewels, including Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany earrings consisting of 18K yellow and platinum with rubellites of over 13 total carats and diamonds and Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany stitches ring in gold and platinum with diamonds ring.

They honor the finest achievements in both filmmaking and television programming over the year of 2023.

Barbie led this year’s film contenders, earning a whopping 18 nominations overall.

In addition to Best Picture, Best Comedy, and Best Hair and Makeup nods, the film racked up several acting nominations including Best Actress for Margot Robbie, Best Supporting Actor for Ryan Gosling and Best Supporting Actress for America Ferrera.

Ariana Greenblatt is also up for Best Young Actor/Actress, and the cast garnered a Best Acting Ensemble nomination.

The Crown star Elizabeth Debicki chose a silver and black jumpsuit with a bow at the torso

Billie Eilish chose a skintight black corset dress with an oversized button-up style piece beneath for a nineties nod

Barbie led this year’s film contenders, earning a whopping 18 nominations overall

Greta Gerwig earned a nod for Best Director and both Gerwig and Noah Baumbach are contenders for Best Original Screenplay.

Rodrigo Prieto was nominated for Best Cinematography while Sarah Greenwood and Katie Spencer are up for Best Production Design, along with Nick Houy for Best Editing and Jacqueline Durran for Best Costume Design.

Several of the film’s hit songs received nominations as well including Dance The Night, I’m Just Ken, and What Was I Made For, while Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt were nominated for Best Score.

Also up for Best Picture are Oppenheimer and Poor Things, which each garnered an outstanding 13 nominations, along with Killers Of The Flower Moon which collected 12 nominations.

Rounding out the Best Picture category are American Fiction, Maestro, Past Lives, Saltburn, The Color Purple and The Holdovers.

Meanwhile on the television side, The Morning Show leads the contenders with six nominations.

In addition to Best Drama Series, the show earned several acting nominations including Best Actress in a Drama Series for both Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon.

Billy Crudup was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series, while Nicole Beharie and Karen Pittman both earned nods for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.

Meanwhile on the television side, The Morning Show leads the contenders with six nominations

The Critics Choice Awards are bestowed annually to honor the finest in cinematic and television achievement.

Historically, they are the most accurate predictor of Academy Award nominations.

The 29th annual Critics Choice Awards show will be executive-produced by Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment.

The Critics Choice Awards are represented by Dan Black at Greenberg Traurig, LLP.

The Critics Choice Association is the largest critics organization in the United States and Canada, representing more than 600 media critics and entertainment journalists.
