In March last year, Millie revealed she had up breastfeeding her baby daughter Aurelia after she was left ‘crying in pain every time I needed to feed’.

Balancing act: Mixed among her glamorous seaside selfies, Ratajkowski shared numerous snaps of herself breastfeeding her newborn son Sylvester as she lounged on the shore

Sharing some pictures of herself breastfeeding Aurelia, who was three months at the time, along with a lengthy caption to express her feelings on the matter, Millie said: ‘My breastfeeding journey with Aurelia recently came to an end, at first I had mixed feelings about stopping but now a few weeks have passed I know that for us it was the right time.

‘I really felt the pressure during my first round of mastitis to continue feeding.

‘After mentioning it on social media I was flooded with messages and although there was a lot of support with people sharing different remedies that could help, I really felt the pressure to just keep going even though I was literally crying in pain every time I needed to feed.

‘There was one comment that really stuck with me, “it’s ok to stop too, it doesn’t make you a bad mum” at the time I really needed to hear that.’

She continued: ‘I started to combi feed and whilst it worked for us for a while, and I loved the bonding time, ultimately when I got mastitis again I decided breastfeeding wasn’t working for me anymore and I knew it was time to stop.

‘I was in a lot of pain, I really wanted my body back, my time back and Aurelia was really unsettled which I found upsetting and frustrating.

Fellow MIC star Ashley James has also spoken out about her breastfeeding journey – and revealed how she described how she overcame her concerns and the stigma attached to breastfeeding in public.

Taking to Instagram she wrote: ‘Breastfeeding was something I was slightly apprehensive about because I’d heard it was challenging, but also because my boobs are SO big I felt like I couldn’t get away with subtle feeding in public.

‘I know there’s so much stigma and judgement around breastfeeding anyway, and the thought of having to get a boob bigger than my baby’s head out was a terrifying thought. That said, it was also something I felt quite passionate about trying to do.

‘I found the first few days really difficult to get Alf in a good position. Between the stitches, and the size of my boobs making a lot of positions quite difficult to master…

Mummy duties: The former Made In Chelsea star, 33, shared a trio of snaps feeding her boy on Wednesday alongside a lengthy caption

‘Plus I had a 250g lump removed from my left boob when I was 15, so I didn’t even know if I could breastfeed from that side. I was worried Alf wouldn’t get back up to his birth weight, as was my midwife.’

Ashley said she hired a lactation consultant to help her master breastfeed positions.

She continued: ‘On days 3&4, my boobs were incredibly painful as the milk came in. One boob was so engorged, Alf couldn’t even feed off it so we used the @haakaa_ukandireland and massaged my boobs and it’s been pretty smooth sailing since.
