Tesla shares plunged after the company reported its lowest second-quarter profit margin in four years. The reason is that Tesla has continuously reduced the price of electric cars. During the board meeting, Musk vowed to continue lowering electric vehicle prices if interest rates continue to rise.

Elon Musk once lost up to 200 billion USD in the period from November 2021 to January 2023 because Tesla shares dropped sharply. But this year’s crisis was created by Elon Musk himself.

In November 2023, the 2-stage rocket of the company owned by Elon Musk was launched from the Starbase space port in Texas (USA). The rocket propelled the Starship to an altitude of 148km for a 90-minute test launch into space and back to earth.

However, the Super Heavy stage 1 thruster, despite achieving important results in separating the Starship core, exploded over the Gulf of Mexico immediately afterward. Billionaire Musk is the founder, CEO and chief engineer of SpaceX.

Despite many losses, according to Forbes, Mr. Elon Musk is still the person who made the most money this year. Shares of electric car company Tesla increased more than 100%. Aerospace company SpaceX was valued at $150 billion in July and is now worth $180 billion. Thanks to these two companies, Elon Musk’s assets increased sharply.

His current assets are 254.9 billion USD. In one year, this billionaire pocketed an additional 108.4 billion USD.
