Jensen Ackles threw Antony Starr off-guard with his joke!
The Boys has been making the rounds with its recent announcements and news for the next season. With Antony Starr portraying the iconic role of Homelander and Jensen Ackles portraying Soldier Boy, the on-screen rivalry between the father-son duo remains as thick as one would expect.
In an interview, the cast of The Boys couldn’t control their laughter after Ackles talked about his on-screen rivalry with Starr in a mocking voice. Comparing Homelander and Soldier Boy to kids playing in the playground, the cast and Antony Starr lost it as Jensen Ackles talked about being “the strongest”.
When Antony Starr Couldn’t Control His Laughter!
Although Homelander has a psychopathic smile and laughter. Antony Starr doesn’t follow that in real life. Sitting down for a chat with the cast of The Boys, Jensen Ackles, who is known for portraying the role of Soldier Boy, made everyone laugh.
Being rivals on-screen, Ackles and Antony Starr talked about how their characters fight. Talking about how Homelander and Soldier Boy compete to be the strongest, Jensen Ackles revealed in an interview with Entertainment Weekly how he sees the on-screen rivalry!
“At the same time, it’s like [in a mocking voice] ‘but I’m the strongest’ and it [the cast starts laughing].” Antony Starr states “Which he does do in the show,” while Ackles replied “I do, ‘but I’m the strongest’”
When Jensen Ackles mocked by putting his hands in a running motion and yelling “Homelander”, Antony Starr lost it.
“I didn’t know what to do. That was a great move”. Jensen Ackles continuned “It really threw him off which, you know, all plays into the power struggle”
Antony Starr ended the topic by saying to Ackles “You really dethroned me in one second.” And as Jensen Ackles did the mocking voice saying “I’m Soldier Boy”, Antony Starr laughingly replied with “Wait…what the f*ck is that?” and the interview continued further.
Antony Starr Revealed What Makes His Character Worthwhile!
With the iconic portrayal of Homelander at hand, Antony Starr believes that he has the key to the narrative. In an interview with Karl Urban on Prime Video’s YouTube channel, the duo talked about how Homelander lives in the moment rather than the future!
“It’s true. I don’t have an idea what I’m going to do. My storyline, if I go out on a tangent, the choices I make is crucial to driving the narrative. I can go further. So it does leave me in a spot I don’t have to overthink. I can live in the moment (*snaps fingers*) and see what happens. And that makes it so fun.”
Fighting supes with Compound V, the upcoming season has been alleged to be completely off the roof as creator Eric Kripke tries to outdo Herogasm. The 4th season of The Boys is currently scheduled for a release date in 2024.
