They became embroiled in a bitter stand off while filming The Fate Of The Furious in 2017 and didn’t have a single scene together.

Now it seems Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has patched up his feud with Vin Diesel and hinted he will return to the Fast & Furious movies alongside the star.

The world’s highest paid actor, 47, thanked fans for making his Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs & Shaw a global box office success after it passed $750million in takings, in a sweaty Instagram video filmed at a gym.

Dwayne said: ‘You have officially made Hobbs & Shaw not only a massive global success as we just crossed $750 million at the global box office, but also you helped build up an expansion of the Fast & Furious franchise.’

He went on to thank ‘brother’ Vin, 52, and referenced a congratulatory comment from the star after he married his wife Lauren Hashian, 35, earlier this year.

Dwayne said: ‘I appreciate it. Lauren and I appreciate the wedding congratulations, and we send love right back to you and Paloma [Jimenez]. I appreciate it, brother.

‘You know what a wild ride this is and what a wild ride this has been. Ten years ago, when you and I spoke, and you invited me into the Fast & Furious family.

‘I’m grateful for that invite and, as you know, my goal was always all these years to come into the Fast & Furious world and help elevate the franchise in any way I possibly could. If I could do that, then I’ve done my job.

‘And of course, all roads lead to one thing. I’ll be seeing you soon, Toretto,’ he said as he signed off with a smile and a knowing wink.

Vin plays street racer and criminal Dom Toretto in the F&F franchise, who Dwayne’s FBI agent character Luke Hobbs at first hunted and then teamed up with.

Wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne later explained what caused the feud in an interview with Rolling Stone.

He explained: ‘Vin and I had a few discussions, including an important face-to-face in my trailer.

‘And what I came to realize is that we have a fundamental difference in philosophies on how we approach movie making and collaborating.

‘It took me some time, but I’m grateful for that clarity. Whether we work together again or not.’

It’s doubtful that he’ll be back for Fast & Furious 9 on May 22 – unless it’s in a cameo – as his name’s not mentioned on the cast list on IMDB.

But he could be reinstated in Fast & Furious 10, due for release on April 2, 2021.
